Some Pancreatic Cancer Stages and the Causal Factors

Pancreatic cancer is a disease that is caused by the growth of tumor in the pancreas. The pancreas is a large gland that belongs to the digestive system and has a length of 15 cm. 

Pancreatic cancer may attach both men and women. It usually attacks elderlies above 75 years old. It is also signed with pancreatic cancer stages as usual cancer disease.

Pancreatic Cancer Stages

Pancreatic cancer is divided into four stages and each stage is categorized according to the diagnosis that has been done. 

Here are four pancreatic cancer stages that may happen to patients with pancreatic cancer.

Stage 1: Stage 1 pancreatic cancer is a condition where the tumor is not spreading to other body parts yet and it is still curable. The tumor is still young and small and it does not cause pain yet.

Stage 2: Stage 2 pancreatic cancer is a condition where the tumor in the pancreas organ is currently spreading to the organ and tissues near the pancreas. It also may attack the lymph gland.

Stage 3: Stage 3 pancreatic cancer is a condition where the tumor in the pancreas is spreading to aorta around the pancreas and it may also attack lymph nodes.

Stage 4: Stage 4 pancreatic cancer is the worst condition of the tumor that already attacks other organs such as lungs, liver, and others. This stage 4 is usually difficult to heal and patients must have some treatments to reduce the pain.

Causal Factors of Pancreatic Cancer

Until now, nobody knows the exact causal factor of pancreatic cancer, but there are some factors that may increase the possibility to get pancreatic cancer such as:

ü  Diabetes can increase the possibility to get attacked by pancreatic cancer. In contrast, a malignant pancreatic cancer may also cause diabetes.

ü  Helicobacter pylori is a bacteria that may cause infection in the abs that also cause pancreatic cancer.

ü  Smoking may also increase the possibility to get pancreatic cancer because cigarettes contain dangerous toxins and chemical substances.

ü  Elderlies above 75 years old may also have pancreatic cancer.

ü  Someone who does not have many activities, obesity, and unhealthy diet may also get pancreatic cancer.

The Treatment of Pancreatic Cancer

The treatment of a patient with pancreatic cancer also depends on the pancreatic cancer stage. 

Doctors may suggest the patient get surgery to remove the tumor from the organ because it is a better way, but it may heal the disease totally. 

Another treatment is chemotherapy that is usually given to the patients with cancer including patients with pancreatic cancer. 

Sometimes, radiotherapy is also given by the doctor to reduce the pain and reduce the size of the tumor in the pancreas. 

Somehow, all of those treatments may give side effects such as no appetite, nausea, fatigue, diarrhea, and others.
